A New Perspective

​​​I don’t want to wake up in thirty years and realize that my future children are fighting the same battles my grandparents were. And right now, I haven’t seen anything that convinces me that won’t be the case.

We still have a rising number of children being abused and exploited, with little meaningful progress being made, an education system that continues to fall short of where it needs to be, and a mental health crisis among young adults that is only getting worse. 

 

These are problems that cannot be treated as secondary priorities any longer. I am willing to work with people I don’t always agree with, while staying true to who I am. Winning arguments and making headlines is great during election season, but personally, I’d like to see real steps being taken towards creating a better future for our families.
